Pretty Darn Good

It's a small book by page count and by size, and the contents while interesting and VERY MOTIVATING are thin .... Nothing new. What I'll say is that the duo are motivating and reassuring for people in an awful marketplace, so I gave it to two older friends trying to find new job alternatives but fearing they have no real options. That said, it is one step longer than a HBR article, but less substantive, and generally plays aggregator for stuff already out there to make the point that people need to respect and leverage their experience - not feel embarrassed not to have all the letters behind their names.

Really. For me, The Real-Life MBA is The Real-Life Business Book of the moment.
I received my book in Lisbon the day after it was launched, on April 15 (I love Amazon!). Curious, I started to read it immediately until a point I said to myself ‘Oh - this is too important to be read just when I have a bit of free time or in the midst of a million things’. I really want to make a deep dive, reflecting, living and enjoying all these fresh views and ideas that Jack and Suzy Welch are sharing in this book. Early June and I took a few days off to immerse myself in The Real-Life MBA – and you don’t have to guess… I loved it! I learned a lot, I got surprised and I got completely re-energized :) And if Straight From the Gut and Winning inspired me to assume myself, find my territory of differentiation and develop my own company WIN World until today, The Real-Life MBA will surely inspire me and my team to move WIN World forward to our next ambition, better and faster. The Real-Life MBA helps us to put the right questions, to make the right reflections, to empower the best people around us and to involve and align all of us in a fascinating journey of personal and collective growth, embracing and rewarding progress, in and outside the company. This book is excellent. Consicse, funny and full of insight the Welches make it feel like you are sitting around their living room and causallly talking about life. It's like going back to your favorite teachers classroom where they make the class so much fun you forget that your actually learning anything. I'd strongly recommend this to anyone interested in developing themselves as a business leader.
