About the Author

Dr. Jae W. Park is a professor at Oregon State University (OSU) since 1992. Before joining OSU, he was the director of technical services (SeaFest/JAC Creative Foods, Motley, Minnesota), which is the largest crabstick manufacturer in the United States. Since 1992, he has worked with various surimi manufacturers and surimi seafood manufacturers in various countries in the world as a technical consultant.

He was elected as IFT (Institute of Food Technologists) Fellow in 2007, which is the most prestigious recognition as a food scientist. He has published more than 120 refereed journal articles, 41 book chapters, and 2 patents. He has accepted over 100 speaking engagements. Dr. Jae Park has distinguished himself as an internationally renowned scientist in surimi research, education, and technology transfer.

Good and easy to understand

This book will introduce you with the basic to the advance of Surimi industrial and mechanism of itself. Dr.Park also separate the product lines in to 2 section as Western side and Asian side so it is very interesting when you see each side's history and how it was make from fish to finish product (I love this part). I am not a native English user but I can understand what he want to explain as some of easy wording or pictures that he gave. Although I just got the 1st hand text but I did use this text in my seminar (final term of 4th year student, 2015).

Amazing game development course!

I think the title is wrong, this isn't just a programming book, this is a complete game development course, the author starts by talking about what you will have at the end, them he introduces every game talking about the foundations not just code and result, you are introduced to good practices to achieve your game complete, it is fundamental in my opinion to have a project complete, the programming part is really good as he is presenting the critical points of the game structure in natural basis, you understand what he does because you understand the need of that code part. I think that the difficult of this book is between intermediate to advanced, but he made a book that everyone who wants to make a mobile game can start with solid basis. All the projects has its own focus and difficult level, I think they shown almost every feature you need to make a good 2d mobile game.

Fantastic book and i would give 10 stars if possible! i have to disagree with another review i have seen about the book not being useful to developers at beginner level, although the book intro does assume you have some development knowledge it all depends on what you are looking to take from this book! i am practically new to android game development and needed to know more on game loops and sprites and i got this know how by reading this book and putting it to practice with the games made in this book so even from a beginners point of view i have to say that what i have took from this book has been a massive help towards my understanding of what it takes to get games built and running! java code in any book anywhere can seem daunting to all of us but by using examples i find it is the best method and by example is exactly what this book shows, if you still do not get whats happening in code then simply go over it again as with everything in life, things become clearer the more you practice.
Before i read and used the examples in this book i was at a stand still with my games development and was annoyed with my self as was trying to take so much information in from a number of different sources it was really taking a toll on me but when i came accross this book it ticked all the right boxes and i am glad i gave my time to read this as all this time it was one source i really needed to focus on with the right information and it happend to be the best choice i made investing my time into this because it gave me everything i needed to know and more! i am now confident with my own looping and sprites, and much better ways of the headach i was having with fps, this book is not just good to give a once over! for me it is also an ideal reference book.
The way the book has been written is very straight forward and informative this makes it easy to follow, you can copy and paste the code or download the code if you have a paperback copy however if your new to development and really keen to learn i find that by writing the code myself gives me that bit extra of my learning progress and comes across clearer then copy and pasting chunks of code.
I hope this book helps you all as much as it has helped me, if your really serious about android games development then you can never have enough learning books, i do highly recommend to add this to your front collection.

Anthonio Akkermans has studied wilderness skills from childhood. He established a youth group which allowed children and teenagers to come out into the woods and learn earth-living skills, which evolved into a school called Wild-Live based in the United Kingdom. He has traveled regularly to a number of states in the USA, Yukon territories, Israel and Turkey where he learned more native skills. He still enjoys traveling and regularly teaches primitive skills in the most unique environments. He lives in Ireland.

Home is Where the Shelter is

There aren't many things people need to survive -- food, water, and shelter are all that come to mind. So, it stands to reason that it would be a good idea to be able to obtain all if needed. Having some knowledge of harvesting food and purifying water, I wanted to expand my horizons to how to construct shelter from natural materials without the use of tools. This book taught me exactly that (and more!), and I'm quite pleased with it. It goes into good detail on how to build shelters in all types of climates, and also provides a lot of background information as to why shelter is important, and where it should be located. The book contains a lot of pictures for every step of building, and the author is clearly passionate about this craft. Something not as important to me, but still helpful, came as a bonus! The book also includes sections on pre-made shelters, shelter made from bought materials, and even how to mentally prepare yourself for living in a handmade shelter. Nice and comprehensive!

Shelter is Key

I've read many of these types of books in the survival genre and I always feel like the shelter aspect is glossed over. Creating shelter is quintessential to any successful survival situation and this book gives you the tools you need to be fully prepared in that regard. Not only does this book give you the tools to create great effective shelters in general but keeps the environment of the shelter in mind, and offers shelter from not only the elements but also various debris. The book was easy to follow and an enjoyable read with clear instructions. A great addition to the library of really anyone looking to beef up their knowledge and greatly increase their chances of success in a survival situation

Think of it like a more intense

This is not only a practical guide to keep on any outdoor adventures where shelter construction may be necessary, but is actually a very engaging read in its own regard. Think of it like a more intense, more practical version of the ever popular "Worst Case Scenarios Survival Handbook." Detailed pictures help you to get a visual idea of the structures at play, as well as the materials you'd need to build them. Frankly, I think the readers who would have the most fun with this book are people with children who have access to a forest space. I can't imagine any child being bored by the real-life excitement of making a home out of the materials nature provides! An excellent way to drag the kids away from the screen for a while. That said, the detailed advice would surely come in handy for someone stuck in a real-life survival situation. All in all, if you might be interested in building shelters outdoors either for fun or in case of emergency, this book is a great option for you.

Great read!

After 16 years of marriage and 2 kids, my sex life was almost nonexistent. At the end of the day, all we wanted to do is sleep!! My husband and I read this book, and found new ideas to keep our love life fresh and interesting. I love the fact that it is written from a man's perspective. My husband is learning some very new and interesting techniques!! Instead of macho man, he is learning to take it slow and easy until the time is right. After reading this book, my husband now knows exactly what I want and how to do it! If you need a little help in the bedroom, this is definitely the book for you!!

The Rule of Thumb Here- Please The Lady

This was a great book! It should be noted that it is written to men. If you take the time and effort to please your lady then your part in sex will be more fulfilling and enjoyable.

The cover could have been different and a bit more tasteful and a little more editing could have been involved as well.
This book is quite concise. It touched on topics, but didn't go on and on about the same thing. It was basically a book of tips, that had a lot of common sense behind them. Some of the suggestions were unconventional, which allows you to think about different ways to change up your sex life.

The book is set up nicely allowing you to understand her wants better. The chapter list breaks it down by timing of actions; way before sex happens (how she thinks), to foreplay, on to physical touch, then sex, and even after the deed is done.

I would suggest this book to someone who is wanting to spice up their sex life, a couple who is struggling, or just someone who is curious about females.

Overall, I liked the book. I learned some new things even though I've been intimate with my wife for quite some time. I really did make her scream after reading this.

This book will help you make women feel special

This book is great for both men and women. I learned about how to keep relationships together and the different ways between men and women. Amber Cole gives great advice and talks about five love languages. It gives great detail on how to treat a woman special. This book gives men great advice if they need help in this area. I would recommend this book to anyone that needs help in this area.

About the Author
G. R. S. Mead is regarded as a pioneer in the field of Gnostic and Hermetic studies. A highly intuitive scholar, Mead joined the company of Madame Blavatsky and her close associates. In this circle, he learned the profound mysteries of the Gnostics and became a translator of these writings. Mead evidently suffered some scholarly prejudice because of his connections with Theosophy. However, he also visited with C. G. Jung during his last years, and Jung thanked him for his dedicated work, his outstanding use of the English language, and for his affinity toward the experience of Gnosis.

Ignore the 5 stars and put 6 stars instead! I am still wandering why it took such a long time for me to review this extraordinary gospel. This is one of the most easy to read and follow gospel within the Gnostic gospels, and indeed amongst many of the gospels. The language is clear and the gospel is well structured. Pistis is indeed a rare gospel: it tells of the secret words that you must say for you to reach the highest God and Goddess (not the God of creation); it informs you of the many gods and goddesses that exist and the levels of space they occupy. Mind you, all these is said by Jesus himself, that is the Gnostic Jesus. Mary Magdala (Jesus' partner) is so intelligent in her questions and answers, in fact Jesus tells her that her spirit has been purified and therefore at its best (of course hoping that this is a genuine praise and not based on partner favouritism). But yes, Mary Magadala, beside the praises from her partner, is quite outstanding. She even tells Jesus that she is scared of Peter since St Peter hates the female race! Do not expect anything canonical or convetional from this gospel. It is a very disturbing gospel, yet very powerful indeed. It even explains the difficult parables: "5 will be in a house and 3 will rise against 2 and 2 against 3..." It also explains the parable of the coin - give to Caesar that which belongs to him... This is one gospel, which I must concur, I also do not understand why it has not received much attention as the other gospels!

A great introduction to Christian Gnostic Universe

Although considered a minor Gnostic text by some scholars of Gnosticism, this document provides an excellent introduction to the universe of a Christian Gnostic of the time of Christ. After reading this I would suggest to go on to "Nag Hammadi" and "The Apocryphal New Testament : A Collection of Apocryphal Christian Literature in an English Translation."

This revealed teaching is essential for anyone investigating Christian Gnosticism, post-resurrection narratives, kabbalistic cosmology, feminine Christology, or the writings of Hurtak. It is not a simple read, but deeply layered, speaking of the Kingdom of Light on many levels to humanity. The Savior truly shares a great revelation with his disciples and the author of the text had clearly been very gifted. This translation is not perfect, but conveys the messages true to the context in which they were intended: metaphysically. Serious para-Biblical students should definately acquaint themselves with Pistis-Sophia.

The best book on business ethics and its philosophical foundations

I am an undergraduate student at the Wharton School and took a class with the author of this book, Thomas Donaldson, which was one of the best classes I've ever taken. The cases in this book are drawn from Donaldson's personal experience as an ethical consultant to companies and from his interactions with other knowledgeable ethicists. Even by itself, this book is very useful to gain a foundation in business ethics and its philosophical foundations, as well as to learn about some interesting cases that serve as great conversation topics and practical examples in the real business world.

Diana West is an international board-certified lactation consultant (IBCLC) in private practice, author of "Defining Your Own Success: Breastfeeding After Breast Reduction Surgery," ILCA's popular "Clinician's Breastfeeding Triage Tool," and co-author with Lisa Marasco of "Making More Milk: A Nursing Mother's Guide to Milk Supply." She is a retired La Leche League Leader, a website developer, and administrator of the popular BFAR.org, LowMilkSupply.org, and LactSpeak.org websites. To top it all off, she and her family raise german shepherd guide dog puppies for the Seeing Eye. Mom of 3 with severe nerve tissue damage due to breast surgery

If you had breast reduction survey and plan to breastfeed, this book is a MUST.

I was not able to breastfeed my first child because I had prepared for lactation just as other women do. Only after my baby would spend 45 minutes trying to nurse and the lactation consultant's scale showed she was not able to get more than a few drops of milk, did I realize that my breast reduction had damaged essential nerves and there was a disconnect between milk production and the "let down" function. My brain did not register a baby at the breast. It was a traumatic experience for me & baby. By the time we came up with a plan of attack, it was too late: baby was hooked on the bottle doctors told me I HAD to use if baby was to survive.

This book was heaven-sent! I purchased it several months before I gave birth to my second child, used all of their tips and successfully breastfed my 2nd and 3rd children. I had to use the SNS system with the second child, but I was prepared and where other women stock on bottle feeding supplies, I stocked on SNS stuff. With my 3rd child, I only used the "tricking your brain into believing you are feeding twins" strategy and rented an industrial-grade breast pump before due date. I used it for 10 months. My 3rd child was solely breastfed for 10 months and then he took bottles with my frozen milk into age 1 - never had formula.

This book and this book alone is the reason for my success story.

A Must Have for BFAR Mothers

I purchased this book prior to my first child being born in 2008, 5 years post surgery, because I KNEW I wanted to breastfeed. I just wasn't sure that I'd be able to. In order to give myself the best chance possible I purchased this book. I am ever so grateful that I did. There is a wealth of knowledge contained in this book. I had doctors telling me it was unlikely I'd be successful. I never gave up hope. Reading real life stories of other woman who had been there, knowing the medical explanation(s) for different reduction procedures, every last bit of information helped me get where I am today.

With my daughter I was only able to nurse until 7 months, but that is because we conceived our son when she was 4 months old. There was a terrible learning curve with my daughter. She was placed in the NICU the first 4 days of her life and I thought, "that's it, it's not going to happen." But re-reading this book kept my hopes alive. It taught me that every woman is different, every woman's experience is different. I found myself going back to the book during those 7 months that she nursed whenever we'd have "issues." We weren't able to exclusively breastfeed, but it doesn't matter. I was able to provide her with the best start for her little life because I was informed. I would have given up the first day had it not been for this book.

A short 13 months after our daughter I gave birth to our son. I once again found myself re-reading the book, looking for little tips that would help with our nursing issues. This time it wasn't a supply issue, actually my supply was amazing at first. But within the first three months of his life it was determined he needed speech therapy to correct tongue issues with lead to nursing issues which in turn lead to supply issues. After weeks of therapy and a little boost from domperidone (noted in the book, it worked wonders for me) we have been exclusively breastfeeding for nearly 11 months now. I still hold firm to the belief that I WOULD NOT HAVE made it this far had it not been for the material in this book. If you read the book and LISTEN to what is being said you'll find comfort in knowing you had the knowledge to do what you dreamed of. Breastfeeding after a readuction is possible. I'm very saddened that I HAD to turn to a book to get the knowledge that for some reason an OB's office was unwilling to share, but grateful that the book exists.

Good book for lactation consultants and families regarding breastfeeding after any breast surgery. I also highly recommend this book for plastic surgeons, obstetricians, and midwives. My favorite part is that in between the main chapters are personal stories of women's experiences of breastfeeding after reduction. I wish all breastfeeding and general parenting books were like this!
